What a great way to celebrate the beauty of telling stories and exploring the imagination of our students. It was terrific to see our staff involved as they embraced their favourite characters!

Year 6 students recently took part in a rocket demonstration on our school oval. A fantastic event promoting science in action! Don't try this at home!

The next P&C meeting is on Wednesday, 18 August in the P&C Room. It starts at 7:30pm. All are welcome.

The 2009 Sissons Oakleigh Cup - The horse race that stops the nation!

Two of our teachers have been nominated for 2010 NEITA (National Excellence in Teaching Awards)  by community members. We are proud of all our teachers here at Oakleigh and are not surprised that Carolyn Fisher and Therese Allen have been nomintated for this award. Congratulations to these teachers who have been recognised for their great work.

What a fantastic day for our junior sports day as our prep to year 2 students particitated in 3 rotation activities throughout the morning. A huge thanks to all of the parent helpers and house captains for their assistance throughout the day to make it such a successful event. A huge pat on the back must also go to Mrs Campbell our PE teacher for her silky organisational skills. Well done to Jacaranda for taking out the junior sports day for 2010!

Oakleigh has registered for the McCains Veggie Patch Promotion and with your help we can earn points to win loads of fantastic prizes for our veggie garden like wheelbarrows, fertilizers, compost bins and much more.

Every barcode collected from packs of McCain frozen vegetables or McCain Purely Potato earns POINTS for our school. These points can then be traded in for any of the prizes on offer.

So start collecting those McCain barcodes. Get your family, friends and neighbours to help you! Leave the barcodes in the box in the school foyer and visit the McCain website to track our school's progress HERE
