Out of school hours care

Oakleigh Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) has been operating since 1990. Over the years the service has grown and now provides care for Before School, After School, Vacation breaks and on Pupil Free Days for primary-aged children in the community. Before school care operates from 6:30 am to 9:00 am and After school care operates from 3:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m. The children are offered breakfast and afternoon tea and the staff are highly qualified and cater to their differing needs. Oakleigh OSHC provides a quality school age child care program in a caring, safe and stimulating environment that enhances children’s development through a variety of activities, such as sports, arts and craft, cooking and games. We follow the My time, Our Place framework for school aged care, which concentrates on outcomes such as developing a sense of identity, each child’s connection and contribution to their world, children’s health & wellbeing (physical, social & emotional), and children becoming involved learners and effective communicators. (My Time, Our Place website).

Oakleigh OSHC is licensed under the Education and Care Services National Law and complies with the Education and Care Services National Regulations with requirements relating to activities, experiences and programs, child/staff ratios and the qualifications relating to staff.

Please be aware you must inform us if your child is not at School as we are separate entities.

A required form is the EziDebit form. EziDebit is an automatic payment system which we process at the end of each week, when we also email statements to families. Payments will be withdrawn from family bank accounts or credit cards early on the following week.

Oakleigh State School OSHC is open to all primary school children and may be used on a permanent or casual basis.

Child Care Subsidy (CCS)

Childcare subsidy is a payment made to eligible families to assist with the cost of work or study related childcare, this is made directly to the service to reduce your fees.

Please contact Family Assistance Office (FAO) - telephone number: 136 150 to clarify your eligibility.

FAO provides families with a CCS assessment notice, which includes Customer reference numbers (CRN) that should be provided to Oakleigh State School OSHC in order to receive these benefits

Only medication prescribed by a doctor will be allowed in Oakleigh State School OSHC. Parents need to present OSHC with the following:
  • Oakleigh State School OSHC medication authority form

  • Letter from the doctor

  • The medication in the original package with a pharmacist's label stating the      child's name, dosage, frequency of administration, date of dispensing and the expiry date.

Extra-Curricular Activities

If your child/children are required to attend non-OSHC activities (i.e. swimming, running club, band practice, young innovators program) while enrolled at OSHC, please complete the Extra activity permission form available from the OSHC office.

Vacation Care program

Each school holiday OSHC runs a Vacation care program. A Vacation care registration form must be completed for each Vacation care program throughout the year. Every Vacation care program will be released to the OSHC webpage two weeks prior to the commencement of each Vacation care period. All forms can be downloaded and viewed from the links on this page.
During the first week the program will be released and available for booking for Oakleigh State School State School OSHC parents only, thus giving them one week priority for bookings. During the following two weeks the booking will then open to students from Oakleigh State School.
